These terms govern your use of AltGuard ("the app"), a Shopify app that generates accessibility alt text for product images. By installing or using the app, you agree to them.
AltGuard reads your product images and details, generates descriptive alt text using an AI model, and writes that text back to your product media. It can run automatically when products are created or updated, and on demand across your whole catalog.
AltGuard does not overwrite alt text that already exists. Images that already have alt text are skipped.
All charges are processed by Shopify and appear on your Shopify invoice. We never see or handle your payment details.

Paid plans are recurring monthly subscriptions that renew automatically until cancelled. The price and any trial terms applicable to your subscription are shown in the app before you confirm the charge, and those displayed terms govern your purchase.
Allowances reset at the start of each calendar month (UTC) and do not roll over. Automatic alt text and full-catalog backfill draw from the same monthly allowance. When you reach your allowance, the app stops processing images until the next month or until you upgrade.
You can cancel at any time by uninstalling the app or by removing the subscription from your Shopify admin. Cancellation stops future charges; access continues until the end of the current billing period.
Because billing runs through Shopify, refunds are subject to Shopify's billing policies. If you believe you were charged in error, contact us and we will work with you to resolve it.
Alt text is produced by an AI model and may be inaccurate, incomplete, or unsuitable for a given image. You are responsible for reviewing the text applied to your store.
AltGuard is a tool that helps with accessibility work. Using it does not by itself make your store compliant with WCAG, the ADA, or any other accessibility standard or law, and we do not warrant that it does. Treat its output as a strong starting point, not a legal guarantee.
You agree not to use the app to process unlawful content, to attempt to disrupt or reverse-engineer the service, to circumvent plan quotas, or to resell the service without permission. We may suspend access for accounts that do.
We aim to keep AltGuard available and working, but we provide it "as is" without a guaranteed uptime commitment. The service depends on Shopify and on third-party AI providers, and interruptions in those services may interrupt the app.
To the maximum extent permitted by law, our total liability for any claim relating to the app is limited to the amount you paid us for it in the twelve months before the claim. We are not liable for indirect or consequential losses, including lost profits, lost sales, or loss of data.
We may update these terms. Changes take effect when posted here with a new effective date. Material changes to pricing or plan allowances will be communicated before they apply to your subscription.
These terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales. Any dispute arising out of or relating to these terms, or to your use of the app, is subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of London, England.
Nothing in these terms limits any statutory rights you have that cannot be excluded by law.
